Diabetes Mellitus Type 3
The experts in the U.S. believe that they have discovered a new type of diabetes after discovering that the insulin is also produced in the brain and can increase the risk of Alzheimer’s disease. A research was conducted by Suzanne de la Monde with her colleague who is a professor of pathology at Brown Medical School have found an association between diabetes and Alzheimer’s disease. Suzanne said that the insulin produced in the brain was needed by the body for survival of brain cells.
If the number is less, then the brain cells will degenerate and eventually lead to Alzheimer’s disease. The results of this study was strengthened further by doing research on brain tissue from the bodies which had previously been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease. The result is the amount of insulin and IGF I decreases in the cortex, hippocampus, and hypothalamus.
